Jennifer Setters – Las Vegas Family Law Attorney & Founder
Jennifer Setters is the founder and managing attorney of Gastelum Attorneys, a premier Las Vegas family law firm dedicated to helping Nevada families navigate divorce, child custody, and other complex family legal matters. With over a decade of experience and more than 5,000 cases handled, Jennifer has established herself as one of the most trusted divorce lawyers in Las Vegas.
A first-generation Mexican-American and long-time Las Vegas resident, Jennifer has deep roots in the community she serves. She relocated to Las Vegas in 1997, graduated from Rancho High School, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Legal Education and Early Advocacy
Jennifer earned her Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law in Las Vegas. During law school, she demonstrated an innate passion for helping others protect their legal rights. In 2011, she was recognized as Student of the Year for Boyd’s Community Service Program, where she taught divorce and custody classes to underprivileged Spanish-speaking litigants.
This early commitment to serving the Spanish-speaking community continues today. Gastelum Attorneys provides comprehensive servicios legales de derecho familiar en español, ensuring language is never a barrier to quality legal representation for Nevada’s Hispanic families.
Family Law Experience in Clark County
Since graduating law school, Jennifer has represented thousands of clients in family law matters throughout Clark County. Before establishing Gastelum Attorneys in 2018, she worked for highly-established firms where she built family law divisions from the ground up and represented hundreds of clients in both prelitigation and litigation matters.
Jennifer’s practice covers all areas of Nevada family law, including child custody disputes, child support modifications, and spousal support cases. For those seeking to understand their rights before consulting an attorney, the firm’s Nevada Family Law Information Center provides free educational resources on divorce, custody, and support matters.
Legal Philosophy and Approach
Jennifer is not afraid to litigate in court. Her philosophy is simple: every client deserves diligent and aggressive representation. She fights to achieve the best possible legal outcome for every family she serves.
Under her leadership, Gastelum Attorneys has handled over 5,000 family law cases, earning a reputation as one of the most trusted divorce law firms in Las Vegas. The firm’s commitment to client success is reflected in hundreds of five-star reviews from satisfied clients throughout Nevada.

What drew you to family law?
I love practicing family law. I have a deep passion for helping clients move forward and begin the next chapter of their lives. Having gone through a divorce myself, I understand firsthand how overwhelming the process can be. My goal is to bring clarity, compassion, and a sense of calm by simplifying what often feels impossible. It is a privilege to represent family law clients, and I feel incredibly lucky to do this work.
What do you wish people knew about going through a divorce or custody case?
It gets better. While the process can feel exhausting and emotionally heavy, it truly is a new beginning. In time people find themselves stepping into a brighter tomorrow.
How do you spend your time outside the office?
I am a bit obsessive about my work, both in and out of the office. That said, I value time with my family and enjoy traveling.
What’s one thing that always makes your day better at work?
Perspective. Family law clients are understandably emotional and stressed, and I remind myself not to take concerns personally. I see my role as an advocate, a guide, and a tool to help clients navigate one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting the legal process, what would it be?
Stay calm and do your best to be strategically nice to the opposing party. Early resolution is almost always better—emotionally, and financially. Prolonged litigation should be the exception, not the rule.
What’s something that might surprise people about you?
Probably not much. I’m a total nerd who is obsessed with my work, my clients, my team, and building a strong, successful firm.
