📞 (702) 979-1455 or Schedule a Consultation OnlineNevada uses a tiered percentage system based on the obligor's gross monthly income (GMI). The rate decreases at higher income brackets:
| Income Tier | 1 Child | 2 Children | 3 Children | 4 Children |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First $6,000 of GMI | 16% | 22% | 26% | 28% |
| $6,001 - $10,000 | 8% | 11% | 13% | 14% |
| Over $10,000 | 4% | 6% | 6% | 7% |
Each additional child beyond 4: Add 2% to the first tier, 1% to the second tier, and 0.5% to the third tier.
Joint Custody: When each parent has the child at least 40% of the time, the court calculates each parent's obligation separately and orders the higher-earner to pay the difference (NAC 425.115 offset method).
Adjustments: Courts may deviate from the formula based on health insurance costs, childcare expenses, special educational needs, transportation costs, the child's age, and relative income of both households (NAC 425.150).
